Dialing out from phone problem

Hi I have just signed up to NTL and I'm having a problem with my phone line.
We have had 2 wireless phones now and the current one is a BT Synergy 3505 and we have had the same problem on different phones.
We can recieve calls fine but when we try and dial out nothing happens, it just sticks with the dial tone. We had an engineer out and when he tested the line and it worked fine so why is it that 2 different makes of phone do not work?
Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated cheers!

Re: Dialing out from phone problem

I would try a friends phone that is known to work on an ntl line, then phone cs again and explain what you have done

If you have only recently signed up and kept your BT number then you could be in the change over period. When you keep a BT number a customer will have a situation were they still receive calls on the BT side of things but make out going calls on the NTL side of things. Try this and let me know.

Re: Dialing out from phone problem

Thanks for the help.

I found a solution in the end by playing around with the phone, the dial mode was set to tone as default and when I changed it to pulse it worked fine so I can now ring out. The annoying thing is their was nothing about the dial mode in the user guide and it was just me playing about with the phone that found it out, oh well it works now and that's the main thing.
*hurrah*

Re: Dialing out from phone problem

It may also be down to the voltage supplied on the line. It has been known that a standard phone requires less voltage that a wireless. The voltage should be 48V DC.
