Possibly 30 days notice taken by BT? Therefore they're charging you for the remainder of the month?

Were you still in contract? Could be charging you early disconnection fees...

Also there could be some calls made in the past month, before you moved to VM, that BT hadn't billed you for until now...

Have you called their customer care team to find out why???

OH...No...VM have their own line! And you can usually take your BT number with you!

The only time you would need to keep your BT line is if your broadband is down the BT line...otherwise call VM and they can arrange to take your BT number and disc your BT line.

apskunky is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: i i change over to virgin phone ?

yes. You maybe able to transfer your BT number to Virgin. When you do however, don't cancel with BT as the line must remain active to transfer. Bt would then send you a final bill

Depends if you are in a cable area or non-cable area.

If cable area then you'll be using their network, so no need for BT line rental, you get a new line put in and the BT number can be transferred, you'll get decent broadband and the TV service will be cable TV.

If non-cable area, then line rental will remain with BT, calls will go via Virgin (though only use them for the inclusive calls as they are a rip-off otherwise, put chargeable calls elsewhere such as back on BT or 18185) the TV service will just be a Freeview box and broadband is ADSL and is famous for being poor of late.
