Free Voice Mail Question

Hi Everyone

Im been using VM for several years now but i would like to activate free voicemail. After i dial 1571 i hear a message "Please enter a mailbox number or wait" then as i dont have a mailbox number i get " please wait you are being transferred" it rings but it then goes back playing "Please enter a mailbox number or wait" then the please wait message. So how do i activate free voice mail?

thanks

Re: Free Voice Mail Question

It will still TAKE messages while your on the internet.

The advice is to get your messages first because, when its active and you have a message, you don't get a dialtone. Instead you get a "You have messages waiting in your mailbox" voice and then a dialtone.

This may cause your modem to think "Oh the phone's in use...I can't dial out". So it would make you unable to dial the internet phone number.

Re: Free Voice Mail Question

That's nothing to do with activating your voicemail.

If you have been using voicemail with them for a while then it's most likely that the mailbox needs to be reset, sounds like you're experiencing a fault with it.

Call the faults department on 151 from your home phone and report it. The FMS team will reset it for you within 24 to 48 hours and call you back to make sure it's ok
