Dialing Ticks and Times

Hi folks,

Got a bit of a wierd question here so feel free to ask for more information if you think you can help.

Ever since we had our Virgin Media line installed our BT handset (DECT) now dials out with that "old" style ticking noise. Ringing a mobile number for instance takes about 45 seconds while all those little ticks happen.

Never seen anything like this before, as in the old house you literally punched in the buttons and waited about 1-2 seconds before you heard the ringing tone.

Something wrong, or something I have not set-up?

Any help much appreciated.

Re: Dialing Ticks and Times

Theres a setting on the phone to change it from Pulse dialling (which it sounds like it's using now) to Tone dialling. Which phone is it?

Re: Dialing Ticks and Times

Aha !

Thanks for the prompt reply there Stuart C.

We have the BT Verve 450 DECT Telephone Answer Machine Twin pack.

You any idea on how I change those settings on this model, I have a horrible feeling the instruction manual is buried in the shed somewhere.

Great to know it might be something this simple!
