Advice needed - at my wits end!

Ok, every day now for the last week or so I've been getting 3-5 phone calls from 01619060314 (Manchester area). When I answer, there is no delay, just a dead tone immediately. I've tried all times of day and night to call this number back but it is always, always an engaged tone. When I'm out it leaves me dead tone messages on my answer machine. I've Googled the number to see if there's any info on it, but there's nothing.
Can I have this specific number blocked perhaps? Or does anyone recognise it even?
Any other ideas would be helpful. I've no CLI in this area, so can't even ignore it. It's driving me round the bend now.

All I can add is its a STD Code for Manchester provided by a company called YOUR COMMUNICATIONS.

Thanks TUZZY - can I ask how you found out or is it secret?

It's just that 01619060311 has just called and that's some loan company cold calling me?
I'm on the Telephone Preference System too.
Proper narked now.

PS tried calling customer services at VM - at this point I'm so fed up I want to change my number or have the thing disconnected even - but the call centre folks can't understand what I want.

:edit: Meh. Got someone British eventually. Changed my number now.

I use 'UK Phone Codes' - tells me the company (if not BT) behind the STD code.

You can also get the same information from www.ukphoneinfo.com (which is free)

Trouble is, both just tell you who the provider is (ie BT, Virgin Media, Your Communications) not the company who actually has the phone number (i.e. Loan Company, Sainsburys)
