Unhappy Tiscali and dect phones

I have used Tiscali for my phone calls but have just moved to them also taking over my line rental from BT. I have a set (3) of ntl VS2002 dect phones. Since Tiscali have had my line I now constantly get "there is a fault" or "the number you are calling may have left their phone off the hook..." etc. and I can't get through when I make a call. I reported it to Tiscali and they "reset" the line and it was ok for a day or so but not any more. However I have now plugged in an old hardwire phone and it works. I am wondering if it is anything to do with the caller ID function I now have with Tiscali and didn't have with BT. Any ideas please?

Re: Tiscali and dect phones

How are you dialing out?

Are you dailing the number then pressing the green/send/connect (whatever it is on your phone) button?

or are you pressing the button getting dial-tone then dialing the number...

If you are doing it the first way try doing it the 2nd way and see if it works.

If it does then see if theres an option on your phone to delay dialing slightly.

I've had it before with a modem where the Modem starts dialing to soon after getting dial-tone and the exchange misses the first digit of the number, wandered if it could be the same with your phone.

Re: Tiscali and dect phones

Tell BT to take the line back and then get them to fix the problem.

Seriously.
