Question this number has not been recognised ..... what, the mobile phone in my hand?

hello all,

I've just moved to virgin cable this week after a few years of ADSL. (moved house and all that)

I got the boradband and phone package, all set up no problems, happily using the web no probs.

This evening I went to use the phone for the first time and got the message in the thread title when trying to dial any number at all even just dialing 0 gave me the message.

I've tried every phone socket i can find. tried pulse and tone dialing but no joy.

The only thing I can think is that the handset (BT freestyle 3200) may for some reason not be compatible.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Both BT and Virgin use the same international standard for connecting their phones. I suspect you need an engineer to check the installation.

to the forum BTW.
