I take it that you didn't get it working using a fixed IP.

As I said last night, if we can't get it working that way the best thing that you can do is go back to having your router dynamicaly provide an IP address for each of your machines:

Turn the DHCP function on on your router

Set both of your machines so that they obtain an IP address automatically
