DSL = family of digital telecommunications protocols designed to allow high speed data communication over the existing copper telephone lines between end-users and telephone companies

the A in ADSL just means that upload and download are different speeds (asymetrical )

Cable isnt DSL and will use a different modem so you will need to purchase a new router
