Apropos of this and another recent thread, here's one of the other links on that page:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/3796163.stm where a boy decided to wear a skirt to school to point out that the uniform rules were sexist.
What's most interesting is this bit: "It also made him sit an exam in isolation to prevent him from distracting other students."
It seems they didn't ban him from the exam, nor tell him to wear someone else's trousers from the Lost Property box...!
