Unfortunately a lot of those get through ACR as they don't withold their numbers very often. Think the numbers to turn ACR on can vary from area to area though. Think most of the combinations are posted here somewhere by Marge etc.

Just to save dragging through those threads, from various people who posted on them:
*227# to activate
#227# to deactivate
*#227# to check if operational
1478 = enable ACR
1479 = disable ACR
*65 Turn on
#65 Turn off
and you can always make sure you register here
TPS to help curb some of the cold calls. ACR only works on "Number was witheld" situations and not "number is not available" which is what happens with a lot of off-shore dialling scams.
