Under that will be a nice connector point onto whcih you can plug the co-axial that connects to your TV (or VCR). Ther screw in thread on the left side of the rear is for the ntl cable that comes from the box on the side of your house.

If the kids have mesed aroudn, any idea what they have changed. It's might be the TV channel tuner that simply needs to be readjusted to a changed frequency?
I've had a look on my analogue box & can't find an easy way to change the channel frequency from the standard menu - there is no telling how 'creative' kids can be, though.

Connectors to the stb are 'F type', i.e. screw in, there should be one from the wall plate to the rear of the STB, where it is labelled 'input' & one from the TV/VCR outlet on the aerial combiner to the TV or VCR. As MGP says, the 'ant' socket can be used to combine the signal from a terrestrial aerial with the cable signal.

for a piccy

If these connections are ok, maybe the TV needs to be tuned into the signal, again????
