If your connection is working using Linux then you know the Modem is working ok so it is either a faulty Network Card,Drivers or TCP/IP Stack corruption.

As you contracted a worm yesterday I would hazard a guess that it is the TCP/IP Stack, go into the Properties for the Connection and delete all of the options in there and then install them again.

See how that goes.
