NTL Netguard

I'd like to know how good NTL Netguard is.

I currently use ZoneAlarm firewall and AVG AntiVirus.
Is Netguard's firewall any good and what about the AntiVirus, am i able to scan my PC using their AntiVirus?

I find netguard just as good as others on the market (and its free) also it does scan your pc, you can set it to do it as specif times or manually.

Re: NTL Netguard

Thank you SLM.
I've been to the website, it doesn't say anything about it having a firewall, does it have a firewall?
And if it does have a firewall, how does it work with uTorrent or Morpheus .. or P2P in general?

Re: NTL Netguard

It doesn't come with a firewall. At one point the site said about Netguard Plus coming soon which had a firewall and anti-spyware as well as antivirus. It said it was coming soon and there would be a small charge for it I don't know if they still say this though.

Re: NTL Netguard

Id stick with what you have!!

There is no firewall, yet it tells you to remove any you might have installed prior to installing Netguard!

I used it for a month. So slow to load compared to AVG + Zonealarm. Also would cause DirectX to have issues, if it decided to update while you where playing a game (that could just be my PC thou LOL)

Re: NTL Netguard

When i downloaded it, it didn't tell me to remove any firewall i had, it recommended i use ZoneAlarm firewall, and if i had ZoneAlarm or any firewall installed to temporarily disable it while Netguard installed, it then said ZoneAlarm or any other firewall i had would automatically resume after i restart my computer.

I'm very happy with Netguard actually, its AntiVirus is just as good as AVG and its Popup blocker is good aswell!

If NTL started to charge for Netguard in the future I’d stop using it and continue with AVG, ZoneAlarm and Spy Sweeper.

Re: NTL Netguard

Netguard is fine, but don't rely on it totally, make sure you keep a firewall going, but not the Windows firewall.

It's also good to have a decent spyware detection program on the go, this article points to one, http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...511#post725511

And don't forget to have some sort of Trojan Detection program too, sech as Trojan Hunter, that can be found at http://www.misec.net/.

Hope that helps.

Re: NTL Netguard

A little bit of help please?

I've got Ad Blocker enabled for the Ad banners, but it isn't blocking any of the banner ads, it blocks the Popups fine though, anyone know why?

---------- Post added at 15:28 ---------- Previous post was at 15:16 ----------

I seem to have to right click every Ad and select "Block Ad with NTL Ad Block"

best popup/ad blocker ever, and you don't need to install any software.
