Re: Help!!!
As others have suggested, uninstalling it then reinstalling should do the trick only be careful about what you accept - you need to make sure you don't agree to installing the sponsor package.

Re: Help!!!
Run a group of adware/ spyware tools and then be careful what you tick when you install programs. As Russ says it's the sponsor package that is the problem here.

Re: Help!!!
Sounds like bloated crap, and possibly not MSN approved. Why not try Trillian or GAIM? Both allow you to access different networks and should be spyware free. The latter is also open source. Or, if you really want an MSN client, use the one that came with windows if you run XP.

MSN plus is fine, if you don't install the adware, it gives you the choice.

Re: Help!!!
You should then run some spyware tools such as Lavasoft Adaware to check for any junk.

Re: Help!!!
He said Adaware can't get rid.
Try Spybot, i have both installed and run them both in case one misses anything

Pressumably you're not serious about that...

Re: Help!!!
As mentioned above, you get the choice during installation of Messenger Plus to include the sponsor software or not.
If you go to the Messenger Plus website at http://www.msgplus.net and look at the FAQ (in the Help section) you will get info about uninstalling both the application and the sponsor software.

the XP install version is fine if you only use it for a select number of people. It is, after all, just the bare bones version of the bloated thing you can download off the web. It also isn't compatible with Smileycentral - so that's one good point in its favour and you never get bugged by M$ that there is another version available to download.

Yes, and is easily hijacked by spammers. Read more here, complete with a handy tool to get rid of it.

Not that messenger. There are two versions of Messenger on XP. One is the Messenger that you speak of, which is shut off by default in SP2. The other is a barebones MSN Messenger - this is the one I speak of.
