Pay Pal Phish Scam

I got this through my email today looking very authentic and not marked as spam or definately spam by my host.

It links to the link below and very clever it is too.

http://paypal.com-re.info/webscr?cmd...ub=xxx@xxx.com

PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system.
We recently reviewed your account, and we need more information about your business to allow us to provide uninterrupted service.

We would like to return your account to regular standing as soon as possible

To continue using PayPal's service without interruption, you will need to answer a few questions about your account and you may be asked to complete a short series of steps on the PayPal website. The purpose of this is to verify your identity and business information, as applicable.

(Your case ID for this reason is PP-253-252-390.)

How can I return my account to regular standing?

Please visit the Resolution Centre and complete the "Steps to Provide More Information."

Completing all the checklist items will automatically restore your account access.

We appreciate your business and apologise for any inconvenience.
So a heads up if you get this. Don't do it.

Re: Pay Pal Phish Scam

Have seen loads of paypal and ebay emails coming through the work email system.

Best advice if you see anything remotely suspect the login into paypal or ebay directly not through a link in the email and check it out.

Re: Pay Pal Phish Scam

I get them from E-Bay & Pay Pal, I don't use either.

I've got them fom most of the UK banks, Again I don't use them.

If there was a problem with an online service that you use, they would either have it on there site or they would post it to you.

Re: Pay Pal Phish Scam

anything you are not sure about wrt paypal can be forwarded to spoof@paypal.com - you will either get a reply say it isn't from paypal, or confirming that it is a genuine email.

Also if it is not a https (S as in secure) and has the little padlock on the bottom of the IE page, do not touch it.

Re: Pay Pal Phish Scam

Basically, anything looking like its coming from Paypal or Ebay asking for any bank details, sent to you by E-mail, is going to be fake so just delete it.
