emergency help needed to against hacking!

My home network maybe hacked. I use Linksys wireless router to connect my desktop (cabled) and two laptops (wireless) yo share the internet. Yesterday evening I noticed when I tried to switch off one laptop, it asked me : there is a link to your computer and if you switch off, the link will be off, etc. Then I noticed a small hand beside my C dirve in 'My computer'. I turned off the computer then back again. I checked sharing property of my hard drive. is was opened to share in the name of 'C$'. I changed back to 'Do not share this folder'. Also I checked desktop, it was the same and I did the same again. This afternoon, I checked C drive about half hour after I turn on the laptop. It was fine. But after two hour surfing, I noticed the computer became slow. The I checked C drive, it became sharing again but I did not see the small hand. I rushed upstair to check my destop (It was on as well), And I saw the same thing. Very bad feeling, isnt it?

Both desktop and laptop use ZoonAlarm as firewall. And the security set as high.
Can anyone confirm me I was hacked or not? If it is the bad news, what I can do to prevent it?

Thanks in advance!

Do you use encryption on the wireless connections ?

btw, windows shares all drives as the letter number + dollar by default (i.e. C$, D$, E$ etc). You cannot connect to them without an administrator account & password.

Have you got any encryption running on your wireless? Also check your rules in ZA to see what network computer IPs you are allowing access to.
Also you may be able to find out through the router what computers are linked to the router wirelessly. Check those IPs against your own computer IPs and you will be able to see which one shouldn't be there if anyone is being naughty.
Also there is an article about securing your wireless network in the article sections I think, might want to read through that too.

Re: emergency help needed to against hacking!

I used 'WPA pre-share key'. In ZA, I allow wireless card connecting to internet. When set up wireless I read one article in this forum, maybe the one you suggest. Also I allowed my desktop connected as trusted zoon. I think this maybe a mistake because my son uses desktop to play internet game (half life or something like that). He opens his computer to the game server as trust zoon!

I checked wireless log. It is just my own desktop and laptop.

To Paul M, my account has adminstrator right (I am a bit lazy).

I wander if no hacker, is it possible the sharing property be changed by software or something else?

Re: emergency help needed to against hacking!

Now, I recalled why I added desktop as trusted zone. About one month ago, my laptop frequently got reminder from ZA, saying a NetBEUI visiting request from my desktop. According to ZA's suggestion. I set desktop as trust zoon to ease the frequent requests. Also I found I selected 'Client for wicrosoft network' and 'Printing and file sharing in network property'. It must be bacause I tried to set up printer sharing several months ago. Now I switch off them and remove desktop from ZA as trusted zoon.
