windows defender

Just been googling how to speed up start up on my lap top ,
one article says to run windows defender .
Now i have found this and it says mine is turned off.
My question is do i need to turn this on and run it as i do have norton 360 installed , or will having norton and turning on windows defender not run together properly and cause me more problems. Or will it be ok to also run this. Many thanks

Re: windows defender

If you have norton 360 then windows defender is obsolete (in fact it's obsolete anyway as it got superseded by Microsoft Security Essentials)

Just stick with norton

Re: windows defender

speeding up start up...

download and install this....

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

run the cleaner, it'll remove temp files then..

go to startup rules...

have a look at whats starting up then figure out what you actually need running and what you don't. note things like Samsung phone utilities, itunes etc. can be loaded manually when you need them
