I just recieved a phonecall from a call centre saying that they have been informed by my computer that it is infected by spyware/malware etc. they appear to want you to go go a web site to fix theses issues. this will obviously download malicous code which will infect you. if you have upto date av and spyware programs just run them and ignore. THIS WILL BE A SCAM
Just had the same, getting more frequent. Lost everything on my pc about 18-24 months ago because I fell for one of these things. Thanks to Microsoft and my son in law who's a MS tecki I managed to get things almost back to normal [son in law not very happy with me for falling for it]. Have had these people calling since claiming to be representing MS and have found the only thing they understand is a dead phone, no point in talking to them at all.
