Re: The only AntiMalware/Antivirus you will ever need

Last month I had trouble with an error message I was receiving from Nod32. I emailed Eset support and within 15 minutes I had a reply, asking for a phone number..Within 20 minutes we were chatting and they remotely sorted out my issue within 10 minutes.Whole issue was sorted in less than an hour..You won't get that level of service from a free AV let alone most paid for AVs.

As far as I'm concerned using free AVs is like using a condom with the tip cut off.

businesses survive on money.
i guess you all must work for free or wouldnt mind if your employer said you had to as people werent prepared to pay you for your services.
would you do the same job with the same effort for nowt?

neither does a free AV

I use the Norton Internet Security Suite (2012). Other layers of security are Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro, Sandboxie and Trusteer Rapport.

I realise that Norton and Rapport aren't popular with some people. However, this is the security arrangement I've used for a good wile now and the layers have proved to work very well together. No noticeable slowdowns. Norton did particularly well over on AV-Comparatives on the 'Whole Product Dynamic Tests' last month. Pretty well on previous months too. I hope they can keep it up.

I too use Norton IS 2012. If timed right you can get the product for under £20 for 3 PC's for the year and that includes software upgrades if they occur during your subscription period. It's a lot less resource intensive than it used to be.

Note once you have the product installed, don't buy the updates from Symantec, just buy a new boxed version and enter the key in from the disk cover.
