Virgin virus scanner options

I have my scan set up for a time just as I'd usually be going to bed, but as that can't be guaranteed there are times it begins when I've still got quite a lot to do and unfortunately despite a reasonably powerful computer (except single core) it does slow down activities considerably.

Most free scanners I've used have a pause option, but Virgin only has start and stop. Surely the effort required to program in a third one wouldn't be beyond the average primary school pupil nowadays, as I don't want to stop the scan, I just want to wait till I've finished and let it carry on, and can't make it start any later as I may well not remember it's Tuesday and turn the computer off before it starts. Therefore it's far better to let it kick in while I notice it and just leave it to perform overnight while it doesn't kill my activities.

Is there a hack we can do to add it ourselves maybe?
