Buying Norton in US
Hi.
I am currently running Norton 360, which seems to work fine, and which has about 2 months before it expires. In a few weeks we are off to Florida for our hols (Harry Potter World here we come, yes I know it's sad but I'm really looking forward to it!), I wondered if I saw a copy of 360 at a good price, in say wal-mart or wherever, and bought it, would there be a problem installing it on a PC over here or would it be fully compatible?
Thanks.

In this day and age laptops are taken all round the world so you should be fine with software like Norton. Just keep the reciept so if you need support in this country you can prove purchase

Re: Buying Norton in US
Iv`e never done it but can`t see any reason why there could be a problem. After all it`s just a serial number which ties you into the product and has an expiry date.
Remember that you can normally buy a new copy for less than the price of a renewal of your subscription, depending on the product.
NIS 2010 OEM here for £13 for example http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Softw...roductId=38024

Re: Buying Norton in US
There are actually a few good free anti virus programs available to save you purchasing one.
Such as AVG and Avast!

Re: Buying Norton in US
AVG is NOT a good program, free or paid for.
plus its free version is just a very basic level of security.
its meant as a standalone product that can be used alongside other software but its also a free sample of what you could have if you paid for the full version.
Norton
Kaspersky
Eset
possibly Bitdefender are the only ones I'd spend my money on.

Re: Buying Norton in US
With Norton you don't have to install, just wait til you current copy runs out then type in the license key from the envelope.
Once you are up and running if there is a new version of the software you can download and install that during your subscription period. (This is OK with Norton IS so should still work with 360.) And often new copies can be bought cheaper than Symantec's subscription renewal. Don't know if a key from older version of software will work in newer though.

Re: Buying Norton in US
My daughter recently purchased her 360 from Tesco, saving 30pounds on PC Worlds price. (60pounds for V4 not for the faint hearted)

Re: Buying Norton in US
I've bought software from walmart before without problems. I've also bought software from amazon UK and other UK stores for my US laptop without problems.

Re: Buying Norton in US
I've always brought Norton Internet security 08/09/10, luckily for me it runs out in Januay and the normal price of £35 is always under £20.
