Re: virus worm help
Download and run the free version of Malwarebytes anti-malware.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
msa.exe is part of a rogue MS Antivirus program that attempts to get you to part with credit card details.
Manual removal instructions here although the Malwarebytes program should kill the little beggar.

Re: virus worm help
Also try running Malwarebytes in Safe-Mode, F8 at start up, good luck...
Maybe also run asquared free as well but check before you remove anything as it can throw up false positives. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
Do not do any online banking, etc for now and when you have an idea that your clean it may be worth changing your passwords.

Re: virus worm help
Is the avast pop-up referring to remnants left in system restore?
If so, you cannot clean them in the normal way. You need to de-activate system restore and reboot to remove all restore points. Then re-enable system restore once you are sure your system is clean.
To be honest, if I found that level of infection on one of my machines I'd be seriously considering a clean install. But that's a decision only you can make.

Looks like you might have missed a step. You need to boot from the Vista dvd and choose the 'Custom Install' option. Then delete and create a new partition. That will destroy all remnants of the previous installs so you can proceed with a fresh and virus-free computer.
Do you have all your important files backed up, as once you perform the above step they are all gone for good.

Re: virus worm help
You're welcome. Although virus cleaning tools are pretty good it's never possible to be 100% sure you've zapped them all. Sometimes it's better to start afresh and be certain that you have a clean machine.
