Buying Avast Antivirus

Has anyone bought Avast Antivirus lately?

The reason i ask is i went to buy a copy of the Avast professional from their website and they are charging 19% VAT!

I don't see a problem.

ALWIL Software is a Czech company, based in Prague. The VAT rate in the Czech Republic is 19%.

i have had the free one for more than 60 days, it works great and my computer has never had one problem . Dont waste your money and get the free one.

But the free one is always behind and less featured than the full version. It's a matter of you get what you pay for

4.8 is far better than 4.7 and below. 4.7 and below had intermittant problems with the outlook addon where it would cause outlook to crash and u couldnt get in without disabling it.

Someone actually buying an anti virus?

Why when there are so many good free ones out there - AVG, MS Security Essentials etc - I thought the anti virus companies just made there money off businesses and newbies these days.

Free anti virus are as up to date as paid for!
