Virgin PC guard ?

Hi all

Having installed PC guard on Friday I have had nothing but errors message such as

I have not used it for 30 days so I need to activate it ?

I have installed it on more that 3 PCs so I need to delete it from some efore it will work !!!

Keep swiching sections all Anti virus / Freewall on and off and at the moment everything is off and I can not switch areas back on.

My PC is now throwing up message saying I am unprotected and I need to switch it on but PC is not having any of it !!!!!

Also got 50Mb to speed up my internet use but since I have installed PC guard my PC has never run slower !

Any ideas or recommendations please

Many thanks

Mike

Call technical support, they are the only ones can fully resolve your issues.

Re: Virgin PC guard ?

All I can suggest is get rid of it, enable Windows Firewall and get AVG Free. But that isn't really help and as PC Guard is a Virgin product then they support it so I would advise you to contact them and they can help you troubleshoot your problem. Give them a call on 151 from a Virgin phone or 08454541111 from any other phone.

Re: Virgin PC guard ?

If you are using Vista with latest service packs installed there was a recent change in the way the action centre api reports things such as Firewall/Anti-virus.
PC Guard is now based on Kaspersky V6 which still reports to windows in the old way, therefore unless Virgin get the code changed just make sure it is running ok via task manager and switch of the reminders.

Give tech support a call like toto and Ben suggested or sack PC Guard alltogether and go for something like Avira/AVG or Avast for free AV coupled with Online Armour free or Outpost free, or maybe Comodo Internet Security for firewall, hips and AV for free.

What did you have installed security wise before you installed PC Guard?
