AVG Free Resident Shield slows boot

Hi all,

Further to my other post about PC boot time I found that after disabling various things that the reason my laptop hangs on the desktop for about 40 seconds before the icons/taskbar appears is because of the AVG Free 8.5 Resident Shield. If I disable the driver in startup it loads much quicker.

Does anyone else have this? Is it normal/expected or is there a problem with my installation?

BTW I've tried like mad to log in to the new forum on the AVG site but can't (can log in to the old one fine, have created about 3 different IDs on different e-mail addresses, reset my password etc but cannot get in. I also can't e-mail them for support on their forum either!)
