Win32:Vitro

Just run a scan using Spybot on my system and Avast went mental and said that most of the files in system32 have this infection yet im having no problems and they r all working ok, files everything from ping.exe to event viewer and lord knows what else.

if the infection is on my system how do i get rid of it.

Re: Win32:Vitro

Sounds like a screwed definition in Avast.

Do as zinglebarb suggests, uninstall Avast and install AVG. Update AVG fully and then do a full system scan at boot time.

If there's anything there that should catch it.

Re: Win32:Vitro

My avast updated when I started up this morning. Just done a scan of the system32 directory & nothing flagged.

Try updating the virus database manually.
