AdAware AE not updating what other options.
Since I have updated to AdAware AE I have been unable to update it and looking on the forums I'm not the only one .What software can I use in its place until this is corrected.

spybot s&d, its free and works well, http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html
make sure you use the imunize option as well.
it will run a program at startup called 'teatimer', this will tell you if anything is trying to add itself to your startup programs and you can block anything that you are not expecting.

Not sure if the problem you have is the same as the one that materialised after an upgrade a few weeks ago, but if it is, try this (worked for me):
For a 32bit operating system.
Go to, (the default installed location)
C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\drivers\32 Right click on the 'lbd.inf' file and choose install, reboot the computer

Still get Error Failed to start update when I try to update from the update option.

I have tried the new update to fix this problem ,still no joy.
Does anyone have any suggs what else i can use in its place ?

superantispyware and malwarebyte is what I use for my regular sweeps now. Do not use the live scanner as you have to pay for it on sas but a weekly scan is all I bother with.

Despite the corny name, another vote for superantispyware from me, I stopped using adaware ages ago.

Spybot Search & Destroy along side Malwarebyes. That's all that's needed for spyware removal.
