Lightbulb

Find out here!!

This is a real and ongoing effort to fight the takeover of personal machines as well as personal networks used in a malicious manner.

There are a few basic things you can do to prevent your network from becoming prey to this marketing ploy,as well as a viral mess.

First off: Watch what you click most importantly.

Dont become enticed into clicking on something that tells you it will "scan your system" and fix this or that.

Beware of what you click on in any email it can lead you to one place that is what is called a spoofed website or a cloned of the original. Its very simple to steal the code from a site and change the links to make it appear that your installing something you want, then you find without knowing you have installed something malicious.

File sharing networks have become a breeding ground for such things you just dont know what has been placed within that "free" this or that your so exited about.

Ultimately you are the best "software" available. Use your smarts,if your in doubt, post it and I'm sure someone will know,or have a good idea to help you in your decision.

Dont be afraid to ask, none of us know it all!

Re: Is Your machine part of a botnet?

I have just visited the site by a different route. I have to say the info on it is not very informative really. It says my IP is High Risk just because my email volume is low!!!!! Just a scaremonger trick I think.
