Slipstream everything, then point nLite at it, select "Bootable ISO" is the options, and let it do it's stuff Voila! Working XP SP3 bootable CD.

Re: XP SP3 Comments

Really?

I've just used nlite to slipstream SP3 and it seemed to work. I haven't tried installing XP yet though.

Try installing it on a Virtual Machine, i recommend Innotek Virtualbox for this. That's how i tested and found my first one was bad. My second one, was good.

Are you slipstreaming on XP or Vista? Vista seems to break it

Re: XP SP3 Comments

Cool. Heard of NLite before but never really used it. Will give it a go.

With regards to XP media, are there any differences between a retail copy, an MSDN copy, a copy for volume licences keys etc or is it all dependant on the the product key used?

I think Retail, OEM and VLK are different editions.

I slipstreamed it on Vista. I've got a spare laptop that needs reformatting anyway so I'll try it out on that later. Hope it works.

No - not Home, Pro, Media Centre - I mean the physical media (CD) for diffrent versions such as retail, OEM, and media with VLKs etc.

Nah, one allows a certain set of keys, one allows another set... VLK allows another, but doesn't need activation etc... Minor differences, but same core O/S.
