Try this -www.hitmanpro.com

Hitman Pro is a freeware tool that combines a number of powerful anti-spyware programs in one integrated solution.

Cheers

Make sure you have the latest version 1.5.2 as there have been some important updates then run it in safe mode.

I would advise stopping clear of Adaware in it's present form.It installs a program/ file called Adaware service. It runs on your pc whether or not you are useing the program, and consumes a vast ammount of the memory whilst doing so.It slowed one of my computers to a crawl. It can also be nearly as difficult to eradicate as Norton.
Avg's free version of antispyware works quite well, though you have to regularly manually update it and run it after the month's trial runs out.
Spyware Doctor, whilst not free, is the best in my oppinion. If you have more than one Pc it is relativey inexpensive, as at present the price covers installation on 3 machines for the £30 (or near) asking price.

Re: Good free spyware remover

I've always used ad-aware, hadn't realised there was a problem now. I think I'll try one of the others.

Re: Good free spyware remover

Try SUPERAntiSpyware - IMO the best (nothing else I tried would fully remove Virtumode)

If you are using Firefox the Adblockplus extension seems to work well

Download a fresh copy of Spybot, completely uninstall old version and re-install with fresh copy. Used Spybot for years with never a hiccup.

Oh and get SUPERAntispyware on there as well.

If you run XP then Spyware Doctor is free as part of the Google pack.If you still run w2k like me you have to pay for it. Don't know about Vista at all.

Re: Good free spyware remover

If you want to spend a few quid then the best on the market would have to be Webroots Spysweeper and it is well worth the cash.

Most magazines give it 5/5
