There was an issue with the RealTekHDAudio but this was patched a while ago - something to do with a Windows Update trying to use something the RTHD driver was trying to use. The Microsoft KB reference is KB935448 and was issued about a year ago.
I had the issue just after I bought a new mobo and patched Windows up to date - this fix resolved the issue as well as doing the same on over 50 student laptops that we issued.

other than that not really noticed any differences...

Well mine downloaded through Windows Update and hasnt kicked in as yet. Not had any installation or anything as yet.

I tried SP3 through Windows Update and it too appeared to stop just at the point it was to begin downloading. I've since downloaded the redistrib version and installed it both at work and at home - the work PC doesn't have the firewall enabled and it was still disabled after the install.

The network redist will be fine afaik think thats the jobbie I used
They just try to push you to windows update as its a smaller package just download the 300 meg installer and let it rip lol
