PC Guard on Laptop

Hello all,

My first post on the forum and an indication of my PC illiteracy.

I have just exhausted the 90 day trial period for McAfee on my new (first) laptop and have dumped them now for PC Guard.

However, I now find that PC Guard is only "good to go" when Virgin Media is my ISP.

Ordinarily this is not a problem but what do I use for virus protection, etc., when I am traveling and using WiFi?

The choice is wide and varied, for a free good option, AVG is the one to go for.

Thanks for the replies. If that is the way to go then I will sort out some new anti-virus stuff.

However, I was hoping to just uninstall PC Guard, install a 30 trial AVG package for when I am away and then dump that and revert to PC Guard when I get home.

Does anyone envision any problems with this scenario?

My concern is that I would not be able to re-install (i.e download for a second time) PC Guard.

All help appreciated.

Your downloading a trial of AVG?

Best thing to do is dump pc guard forever, and stick with avg free or avast, your computer will be a lot happier with it

i always use AVG free as it has never given me any bother.
at the moment im giving PC Gaurd a go been using it for two weeks and its not as bad as nortans (ram hog) but its getting close.

but lets see after a month !
