TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen ANyone have any luck removing it?

I am trying to help someone get rid of this piece of malware to no avail - I'm not a windows user so am a bit stuck.

They have tried SDFix (which seems to be the thing to do after a bit of googling) to no avail. first attempt at a system restore failed - trying again - if it works I'll report back - if not I'll hope for replies. m :-)
