can anyone who uses avg and outlook express help me? since installing avg i have noticed that ever email i recieve has a paper clip next to it like an attatchment, on reading in the avg forum i notice that they all will as long as they have been sent in rich text format. there advice is to disable the certify email in sending and recieving options. i had done that, but when doing so you dont see the attatchment of the bottom of the email saying avg has scanned the email. has anyone else disabled this feature and are happy you dont get a message sayingeverything is scanned or do you put up with the false attatchment sign?
thanks from jane

Re: avg users

The statement is added to show that the email has been scanned, if it's scanning quite happily at the moment then nothing is going to change just because you turn off the message attachment. I have it turned off and don't have any issues with people receiving anything from me via emails.

Re: avg users

do you have certify incoming and outgoing mail unchecked, or check only if there is an attatchment?

Re: avg users

If you are scanning and updating the defs regularly then there is no reason why you shouldn't just have it checking only when attachments are present. Is there a reason why the paperclip is bugging you and also why you are sending in rich text format?
