SMURF Attack and TCP SYN FLOOD

Hi all, I have been checking my router homepage and have found a whole load of attacks of the above type from a single IP address. Its an NTL IP address but I have no idea what these attacks are or if I should be worrying?!

Re: SMURF Attack and TCP SYN FLOOD

You can report the IP to Virgin Media. If you're lucky they might get round to tracing their customer who has probably got a virus infected computer.

Alternatively change your IP (lots of threads on how to do that via your router's mac address), and that may avoid the attack, if it is based on a specific IP.
