Could be a virus sending emails out, or it could be your provider just being plain daft

Do a virus scan

Re: Spam of myself ?

It's very easy for someone/something else to send "as you" without actually using your account. Most email systems will display a "reply to" address in preference to the "sender" address if one exists.

It's not necesarily an indicator that you have a virus but that someone who has you as a contact has a virus.

Some viruses not only scour address books for addresses to send to but in order to "hide" their origin, also use the address book to set a different reply to address.

Re: Spam of myself ?

I get a few sometimes and just bin them - I figure that if I'm getting mails from myself then I really should.

It's some idiot spammer who has used your email as the return address on his junk. If you've only had a few up to now then think yourself very lucky.
The last time someone used one of my domains in a spam run I got several hundred bounce/failure/rejected messages before I started filtering at the mailserver.

It's along the lines of the old 'Joe job'
