hosted spam/virus filtering

Hello

i have a client who has spam/virus problems via email. To go with this they have the worst web connection in the world so im looking to avoid downloading all these spam/virus emails to the exchange server and scanning them and having them blocked before they get to the local network.

i have been looking at various vendors (uk based only for now) that offer this service and they all have different pricing modules

i have 1 domain and around 10-12 users

http://www.apm-gateway.net/view/s/page/pricing/
Fixed Monthly Fee £5.00 GBP
5 - 45 Users £1.00 GBP
So its £15 a month for incoming/outgoing spam/virus filtering.
Licenses are sold in blocks of 5 users, so if you need to protect 48 users, buy a 50 user license.
30 day free trial
http://www.messagestream.com/index-s...ndingpage.html
£45 per month – this quote is based on number of emails each user will get. This quote also includes archiving and some other useless stuff..
14 day free trial
http://www.messagelabs.co.uk/products/email/
For 10 users on MessageLabs Email Security and Control the cost will be £480 Per Annum,
They do a trail
http://www.icukhosting.co.uk/hosting_spam_external.asp
£45 per domain + free 14 day trial

no idea how good or bad each service is so i was wondering if anyone here has used any of these services.
i did some work for a client who used messagelabs and it was good but did seem expensive. The client currently uses trendmicro software on the local server to do any of the scanning and thats about £50 a year (if that these days) so obviously cost is an issue.

Thanks in advance for any comments

Re: hosted spam/virus filtering

Hi there,

This is something we are going to be offering with all of our hosting packages. Its called MailFoundry

"It’s easy to use, all of the domain names hosted on our Unix Shared and Unix Reseller Web Hosting packages are automatically setup to use the new spam filtering system. If you receive any spam on your e-mail addresses, the system will send out a daily Digest E-mail, containing what has been blocked that day, both spam and viruses (including phising e-mails). This gives you the option to View, Release and Report the e-mail:

View: See the contents of the e-mail in a safe environment, to determine it is spam, if you feel it’s been incorrectly filtered
Release: Remove the e-mail from the quarantine and deliver to you as normal
Report: Ensure the type of e-mail that has been incorrectly filtered is not done so again"
