Although this is great news, the arrival of the Pigeon AXLM warning box co-incided with the death of my laptop's ability to connect to, or even find, any wireless networks! This problem has also happened on another laptop in our house. Coincidence?
I have the same problem, my ACER Aspire 5600 could not see any connections. I went back 1 month on my system settings and it came back. Just need to get rid of the pesky pigeon now. Anyone found the best way yet.

The best way to get rid of the pigeon warning box is to install Virgin's PC Guard, I got rid of my ntl Netguard and replaced it with the PC Guard and the problem has just gone. Have you sorted your wireless out? How exactly did you do that? Cheers.

To get my wireless connestion working again I used 'System Tools' and then 'System Restore'. Select a system when you know your wireless was working, i.e. a couple of weeks ago. When it re-boots it should work, if not go further back.

Re: Pigeon AXML

Observation- This is now becoming a more common problem (and I have it!). Several postings have suggested upgrading to Virgin PC guard 6 but this removes the anti-spyware option that was previously available to all customers in NTL netguard (it is now only available for high-speed customers or you must pay extra- ridiculous!). Therefore Pigeon will no longer be detected/seen? Also, a common thread seems to be loss of wireless connection. The majority of these users have an Intel PRO/Set wireless adapter which was recently updated through windows xp update (coincidence?). It disables windows wireless in place of its own and can cause difficulties with re-configuring wireless routers.
Nonetheless, NTL guard continues to flag Pigeon wired or wireless every couple of minutes. Neither PCguard, Netguard, Sophos, AVG, CCleaner, Adaware, HiJackthis, TCPview, Spybot etc report anything untoward? So is it a false positive as some suggest? Please enlighten>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Question Re: Pigeon AXML

Hi I have the Pigeon AXML on a family notebook (Toshiba) and also my wireless network has ceased to work.

I have tried to use the system restore and have gone back over the last couple of months. Each time it tells me Iam unable to complete the restore.

Any ideas welcome.

PS PCGuard does not work in Safe mode.

Regards Jamie

Re: Pigeon AXML

Its definatly a false positive. Just get rid of netguard and install something half decent like avast or avg along with a firewall like comodo or zonealarm. For spyware use ad aware or spybot search and destroy.

Re: Pigeon AXML

Jamie135, I too have a Toshiba note book and have also found that it will not complete a system restore. I haven't done anything to find out why this is. Reading your message has provoked me, so I will now phone Toshiba about it.

I know it has nothing to do with this Pigeon AXML problem, as it's about a year (or more) ago when I first discovered that the system restore would not operate properly.

Re: Pigeon AXML

Hi Chris whilst this may be a false positive I am now getting major problems that coincide with its arrival.

1. I can not use system restore
2. The wireless network has stopped working
3. Can not repair the operating system as it eays there are errors on the boot record

The system is becoming UNSTABLE it is a brand new Toshiba notebook 4 months old that worked fine untill this Pigeon arrived

Cool Re: Pigeon AXML

I've had the same problem for 10 days - phoned Help Line. Uninstall NTL Netguard (it is not up to date and doesn't recognise Pigeon). Install Virgin Antivirus and Pigeon is zapped! Mac

Re: Pigeon AXML

I had this and found on a different site that this is all to do with a microsoft update that tries to force its own wireless software to be used. To fix, go to 'control panel' add remove programs, find wireless adapter, choose 'change/delete' and then 'repair' This will reinstate your own adapter and stop pigeon pop up.

Re: Pigeon AXML

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I have not had the popup for 24 hours so I hope it's gone. It was a damn nuisance and a worry, I was glad I got a lot of reassurance from the members on this board that it was harmless, though annoying.

I phoned Toshiba about the problem with the system restore and one of their reps guided me through the process on the phone. I was unable to restore using the simple direct route but I had to tap the F2 key at boot up to get into the alternative boot modes. Then log-on via the administrator mode. The restore didn't stop it (Pigeon AXML) as the popoup appeared after the restore was completed. It just stopped on its own, fingers crossed. Thank again lauramac
