Trojan from logitech?

Quote:
detected: riskware Trojan.generic Running process: C:\USERS\DRAGON\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\{820C8521-6387-4FD8-8FEB-515E77D58D85}\{5C6F884D-680C-448B-B4C9-22296EE1B206}\LDM_TMP\BW\LDMCLIENT.EXE
Or just KIS throwing a false positive.

Was installing the Harmony software and it asked If i wanted to download the logitech desktop manager so I hit yes and then had KAV screaming at me.

Don't still have the file to send to virustotal

Re: Trojan from logitech?

I often find that the install routines of software creates alerts with KIS. In fact I think that anything that tries to install, is treated as a potential issue since KIS can't tell if you have triggered the install or not.

Were the drivers off the net or on disk?

Re: Trojan from logitech?

Probably fine then. I'd try a second opinion from a freebie like avast or something though.

Can't very well KIS terminated the download i suspect it was the installer downloading logitech desktop manager and KIS mistakened it for a downloader trojan.

I havn't a clue what KIS is, however I often had problems when downloading and installing when I had Spyware Doctor installed.Eventually the suppliers of Spyware Doctor acknowledge it couldn't tell good from bad and advised turning off the ONguard feature whilst downloading and installing.
If from the Logitech site, I would expect it to be a false positive in all honesty.
Overenthusiastic antivirus apps are common enough, according to the write-ups in the computer comics.
