Re: hacked msn

Contact the service provider for your MSN account (presumably Microsoft?) and advise them.

Also, and I don't know if this is any good or not, is there a link on their site where you can request that they send you a new password? If there is then try that, it may send it to the address you originally registered with them.

Other than that there probably isn't a lot that you can do.

I'm prepared to bet that your password wasn't that great, and that your account wasn't actually hacked - rather that the 'hacker' simply guessed the right password (probably something personal to you, or something common?).

Good luck with this, and to CF.

Oh, forgot to say.

You need to run complete Antivirus and Anti Spyware scans on your machine [b]immediately[/u] in case there is something installed on your machine that may have been used to gather your password. Once you've done that and you're sure the machine is clean you need to change all of your passwords and pin numbers for all of your accounts (web, email, bank, everything) just in case!

Re: hacked msn

Whats maybe happened is your secret question has been answered, maybe someone know has guessed it and changed your password, try and reset your password and change your secret question, if they haven't changed it already, if they have I would try and contact MSN customer services.

Re: hacked msn

As a couple of people said, Sending for a new password.. You can only do that if you put another alternative e-mail When you signed up, if you have they should send it there, Otherwise I dont think there is a way to get it back

Just change all your passwords etc

Re: hacked msn

When/If you get it back (I hope you do) save your contact list into a file (done from the messenger program in one of the menu's) so if it ever happens again and you can't get it back, you will still have your contacts to add to a new account.

Also when it comes to the secret question, I always tend to use the same answer for it, but its totally unrelated to the question. For example "What is your pets name?" and the answer as "you will never guess this". You know what it is but someone else would be guessing names etc.
