Arp Protection In Zonealarm

hi i found this option in zonealarm firewall called arp protection so anyone no what is it for and do i need to enable it in zonealarm firewall

ARP is Address Resolution Protocol. Check out http://www.watchguard.com/glossary/a.asp for an overview or http://www.erg.abdn.ac.uk/users/gorr...pages/arp.html if you want real detailed stuff. If you are using DHCP (from a router) you want it enabled, if not you might get away with disabling it. Depends what what s/w you use and what for.

Best thing to do is try it.

From the manual:

Blocks all incoming ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) requests except broadcast requests for the address of the target machine. Also blocks all incoming ARP replies except those in response to outgoing ARP requests.

It seems that it allows ARP to work as it should for determining the MAC address of a given device's IP, whilst blocking anything else?
