McAfee Blunder?

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes.

A friend of mine works for McAfee in Canada. Apparently McAfee where to do a live launch for a new product (no info yet on which product). At the scheduled time, 18,000 users logged on for product support, and where informed that the product they where paying for was not supported by McAfee.

End result was a very angry senior vice president running round the office shouting and swearing, and the sacking of the project manager.

If I manage to get any more details I'll post them.

CSR: "Sorry sir, we don't supply an Cable services to your address and aren't able to....."
ME: "But I've got one of your <insert a certain grassy colour here> service boxes outside right next to the flat....."

Ha, you're lucky it only took you 2 phonecalls to get them to admit they did it. About 5 years ago I phoned up about 6 times in the space of about 6 months and they said they didn't supply my flat. This was despite me having cable points in my front room and others in the building having NTL. Eventually I emailed a director asking why I couldn't get NTL, after having an NTL van sat out in our parking lot and an engineer drilling holes to an upstairs flat.. Turns out they had an 'old' postcode for my flat in their database, so my flat didn't exist to them... I got 6 months free cable out of them for that f***-up!
