We've already seen new ways of mobile banking recently, such as
Barclays Pingit, which lets you use a smartphone app to transfer money to other people. NatWest has also updated its smartphone app to allow transfers to other accounts already set up as payees via online banking, and to other people via their mobile number ("Pay Your Contacts", which I guess is NatWest's equivalent of Pingit).
Now, NatWest is introducing "
Get Cash": You use the smartphone app to select a withdrawal amount from £10 to (initially) £100. The app provides you with a code, and you then simply enter this code into an RBS, NatWest, or Tesco ATM. No card necessary. Very handy if you have forgotten your card, or if you simply don't want to take your wallet with you when you go out.
