Spam is simply an unsolicited promotion. The promoted item may be a website, commercial product or other service. Sometimes it will be for individual reward. There does not need to be financial gain although this is usually the motivator. Links to other websites whether as part of post content, user signatures, or profile pages, will be viewed with suspicion. However spam does not necessarily need to include a web-link, just identifying something to encourage others to then search for it could be unwelcome. We will never allow referral links. If in doubt seek prior approval from a member of the team.
