Finally decided that the crap Saab I bought on a whim on our favourite on-line auction site was a big bag of poo. Possibly not as big as the big bag of poo on Speedfreak's shoulder, but not far off. Luckily, but unsurprisingly, had been unsuccessful in selling lovely, but old, Golf GTi so decided to keep the Golf and take Saab to local poo-car auction where we lost a considerable amount of money. Put Golf back on the road and all is jolly, apart from the fact that it needs a new clutch cable and possibly a new clutch. Hey ho.

In the good news section of this post, we managed to replace the pump on the boiler so we have heat and hot water and it's been lovely. Now we have a new problem and our pipes are banging. It sounds like someone is upstairs with a Kango and it's a bit scary. Have tried bleeding radiators etc but it's still going on but only when the hot water is on, not when the heating is on.

Does anyone have any suggestions which don't involve the words "boiler" "needs" "replacing"?

I think my house might explode. And, strangely, I'd be much happier if it didn't. Not to mention much more alive...
you have air bubbles stuck in your pipes ,get the plumber out who changed your pump and get him to blead the system as it was most likely a result of changing the pump
