Having engaged in quite a few discussions over this with many friends over the past couple of days, most muslims I know are of the opionion that the best thing we as muslims can do is ignore this.

Just one point - we believe the Koran to be the word of God, revealed to Muhammed (as opposed to the word of Muhammed).

I would be very suprised to find a lot of moderate muslims who believe that Pastor Jones is representative of the Christians message.
