Just to test if its a router issue first, have you tried bypassing the Linksys just to see if its falling over, or do you have an old router you could swap out.

Its possible VM could be doing some behind the scenes upgrade work in your area which might be affecting your service but I would try the router first and maybe a different ethernet cable.
