All of Virgin Media's access network is underground.

As for the trials, I cant publicly comment, not that it will make any difference as its the same product being delivered regardless of HFC or FTTP. In my opinion its all a bit of a media frenzy for nothing really, will be better when services are launched that can actually benefit from FTTP.
