Thanks, Oneear -that was my point; you can only use it as a negotiating tool if it's lower....
In my case, the Sky equivalent package was £3 cheaper than VM, but I didn't even need to discuss that with Retentions; they upgraded my BB to XL and reduced my total package price by about £7 (tbf, I have been a customer for fifteen years, and have always been on mid-range packages, so that may also have helped - I also asked nicely
